History

WISH was incorporated in 1994 to operate Fair Oaks Health Care Center, a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in Crystal Lake, Illinois.  In 1999 it changed its name to WISH and purchased three Skilled Nursing Facilities and one Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded (ICF-MR) in Wisconsin.  The following year, a Skilled Nursing Facility in Montello, Wisconsin was gifted to WISH.

Organization

WISH is a 501(c) 3 Not For Profit Corporation.  What that means is that any profits that WISH makes stays within the entity for the benefit of the facilities and their residents.  It also means that it is exempt from Federal and State Income Taxes, and that any contributions made to WISH are deductible to the donor as a charitable contribution.

WISH is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who donate their time to the organization.
